A battle of the bands was held in the St. Louis Metropolitan area sponsored by a not for profit group Battle of The Bands Inc.
Numerous local bands competed in several competitions throughout the area with several semi finalists competing in the finals held at Kiel Auditorium in Downtown St. Louis in 1987.
Dream Quest Productions was on the advisory board to help with coordination of the competitions and recruitment of bands.
Two bands, Jon Do and Maker made it to the finals with Maker winning the top prize. Both bands were recruited by Dream Quest Productions for this event.
